2025 Summer Cooling Center
With the generous help of Community Foundation for Southern Arizona we are able to operate our Summer Cooling Center again this Summer. CFSA has proven to be a reliable source of funding to help in our endeavor to provide a safe haven to the unhoused that seek respite from the summer heat. CFSA is always committed to help non-profits like ours make a difference throughout various communities in Tucson and Southern Arizona. Thank you Community Foundation for Southern Arizona!!
The Pantry offers an ever-changing selection of food and personal hygiene items. It is open Wednesdays and Saturdays 9am to 11am. Our pantry is supplied by St. Francis Shelter's involvement with the Southern Arizona Community Food Bank reclaiming private and public donations of non-perishable food and money.
Wednesdays...Wellness on Wheels a Cope Community Services, a fully licensed mobile integrated health services clinic. Providing primary care and preventative care services. An array of services geared to those living on the streets. Each Wednesday from 7am to Noon. Located near the park at 601 E Ft. Lowell.
In partnership with the City of Tucson Housing First Program, we are pleased to offer a shower truck every Wednesday from 9am until 1pm.
Transitional housing for men. Please call Shawn Milligan, Director of Operations, at 520-461-4943 to inquire.
Unfortunately we have not found any appropriate space for a Winter Shelter. However, we are partnering with Caridad Kitchens and doing soup patrol for the unhoused. We will be providing soup M-F from 5pm to 6:30pm (or until all soup is distributed) through the Salvation Army at 218 E Prince (Between Stone and First).
If you are interested in volunteering for this, please contact our Director of Operations, Shawn at shawnstfrancisshelter@yahoo.com.
The permanent residents provide food transport services for Sister Jose Women's Shelter. Community residents also provide landscaping services, 24-hour security, campus maintenance, and other tasks for Sacred Heart Church. By performing these services, residents obtain valuable work skills.
Soup patrol will be serving from Salvation Army Amphi, 218 E Prince. Soup and Hot Chocolate. Monday to Friday 5pm until soup is gone or 7pm.
St. Francis Shelter Thanks You!
